Went to see Transformers last night. It was brilliant! Really enjoyed it.
Only thing that bothered me about the experience was the theatre. As I don’t go to movies that often, I can’t say I’m a silver screen connoisseur. I don’t know good sound from really good or if the image is as good as it could be. I do know one thing though, it’s supposed to be dark in the cinema. Since when have they started to leave the lights on while the film is playing? That’s just wrong on so many levels. First, it makes the image less contrasty and second, it makes you see all the other people in the theatre. Both things really suck.
Has anyone else noticed this? Do all the theaters do this?

Hey Kristian, Peter from Barossa Centurions here, would first like to thank you for your wonderful photography that you did for us extremely early saturday morning. Pictures look amazing on our myspace!! I’m here more importantly to respind to your message about leaving the lights on in the cinema!!! I too do not attend all that often and was shocked that they left the lights on when I went recently and agree that its not quite right. However did you go to the one at Dockside in Chatham?? I think/hope that this is the only cinema that does this and that others still darken the place up for the film. I might do some investigating………Keep up the good work…
It was the Dockside Odeon. I haven’t heard of any other ones, but then again, rest of the people I was with didn’t notice this at all. I’m gonna try and make it to see The Simpsons Movie in the Strood cinema this weekend. Hope it’s not the same.
It was bit of an early start on saturday but made some good photographs so it doesn’t matter.
